A Case of Acute Vestibulopathy with Reversal of Nystagmus

Abstract

|
|
Reversal of nystagmus during recovery of acute vestibulopathy is known as recovery nystagmus. The mechanism of recovery nystagmus is considered as vestibular compensation. Medial vestibular nuclei, commissural linkage between them, and cerebellum are engaged in vestibular compensation. We report a case of multiple reversal of nystagmus after acute peripheral vestibulopathy. This case amy demonstrates unstability of vestibular tone during vestibular compensation.
